Thanks Mhie. Since your Telephony services in your system has been started, then your laptop is supposedly works with the 3G modem. Just want to clarify, did you reboot twice while executing the rarepair tool?

You mean, you were able to browse after executing the rarepair tool? Then, on Friday biglang nawala ang internet connection?

That’s the next thing we’re trying to find out. Baka configuration lang sa internet connection properties. Try my advise below–yong i-try mo yong laptop mo to connect in a Wi-Fi or in a LAN connection using a cable. That we will know if maka-connect ka or maka-browse using other internet connections.

It’s not a big problem. Have your laptop checked by anyone who is familiar with the internet properties configuration. At least you already solved the error 702 by using rarepair.exe , It’s just a matter of ticking some buttons or you haven’t set the DNS in your properties.
You can call Globe 211 for assistance regarding the configuration.

We’re going to conduct series of test for your laptop. Based on your account, these are the conditions on your system:
1- The telephony services is running
2- The Tattoo 3G modem works and connects to the internet when used on other laptops
3- You have enough signal on your Tattoo and has enough load credit to surf
4- You have executed properly the rarepair tool but you’re not connecting since Friday.
These are the initial steps,i suggest you have to undergo:
1- Try for the second time run the rarepair.exe tool since you were off since Friday and you had the Tattoo working well after the execution.
2- If still you can’t connect to the internet, try bring your laptop to a Wi-Fi zone or anywhere that has a Wi-Fi signal and try connecting it. You can also try connecting your laptop to a LAN using the LAN cable.
3- Give me feedback after step1 and step2.

Good day, Sir Jun. I just want to know if there is a way to speed up or optimize Smartbro 999 internet connection. You see, it’s really, really slow despite of it being advertized to reach up to 1 Mb/s.Even just to enable it to play videos with a duration of 1 hour, maybe a little more? Thanks.

The only way possible is to tweak the connection speed at the side of Smart but it can only be done by the technicians of Smart. That’s remote since you are limited by your subscription.

How about tweaking Windows Registry (Windows 7 Ultimate x64)? Is it possible?

The internet speed is dependent on the system of your provider not on your computer, You can optimize your system to ensure the full benefits of the internet connection but still you are only up to what is being set by the provider.

I tried your tip on “reducing Windows Update…” but when i click on Network no Qos appears. The Group Policy window itself looked different from the screen shots in your blog. I guess it’s because we’re using 2 different OSes.

Sorry, that’s Windows XP. I think you’re using Windows 7. It’s not that big in difference. Just check the Group Policy for similar functionality.

Another thing Sir Jun, I read that ISPs throttle down the speed just when you needed it(steaming video/audio).That is hacking, and they hacked their subscribers. Totally unfair.

I haven’t heard that. What i know of is the ISP’s implementation of bandwidth cap every month which we agreed when we signed up with them. Once they implemented the cap, our surfing ability shall be reduced.

I think the service offered is unlimited surfing. Supposed to be no bandwidth capping as long as you pay the monthly bill. After all, they just limit you to 1 Mb/s internet speed as advertized by them. What is being implemented really is ‘Business as Usual’. Simply put, it’s not good for business at all. Not even to their own business.
