Is it true na hinay ang mga usb modem bisag 4G na siya?

Actually Gil, it would depend your location. Whatever network, the speed of the 3G modem depends upon the cell site in your location if it has the capacity to handle your connection. Be sure to have at least 3 bars of the signal reception to achieve 3G connection. For the 4G you’ve mention, which refers to the LTE technology, it’s not available yet in Cebu. The HSDPA we have experienced from the networks is considered 3.5G. I hope this explains.

Thanks Mhie. Since your Telephony services in your system has been started, then your laptop is supposedly works with the 3G modem. Just want to clarify, did you reboot twice while executing the rarepair tool?

That’s the next thing we’re trying to find out. Baka configuration lang sa internet connection properties. Try my advise below–yong i-try mo yong laptop mo to connect in a Wi-Fi or in a LAN connection using a cable. That we will know if maka-connect ka or maka-browse using other internet connections.

It’s not a big problem. Have your laptop checked by anyone who is familiar with the internet properties configuration. At least you already solved the error 702 by using rarepair.exe , It’s just a matter of ticking some buttons or you haven’t set the DNS in your properties.
You can call Globe 211 for assistance regarding the configuration.

We’re going to conduct series of test for your laptop. Based on your account, these are the conditions on your system:
1- The telephony services is running
2- The Tattoo 3G modem works and connects to the internet when used on other laptops
3- You have enough signal on your Tattoo and has enough load credit to surf
4- You have executed properly the rarepair tool but you’re not connecting since Friday.

These are the initial steps,i suggest you have to undergo:
1- Try for the second time run the rarepair.exe tool since you were off since Friday and you had the Tattoo working well after the execution.
2- If still you can’t connect to the internet, try bring your laptop to a Wi-Fi zone or anywhere that has a Wi-Fi signal and try connecting it. You can also try connecting your laptop to a LAN using the LAN cable.
3- Give me feedback after step1 and step2.

Good day, Sir Jun. I just want to know if there is a way to speed up or optimize Smartbro 999 internet connection. You see, it’s really, really slow despite of it being advertized to reach up to 1 Mb/s.Even just to enable it to play videos with a duration of 1 hour, maybe a little more? Thanks.

The only way possible is to tweak the connection speed at the side of Smart but it can only be done by the technicians of Smart. That’s remote since you are limited by your subscription.

The internet speed is dependent on the system of your provider not on your computer, You can optimize your system to ensure the full benefits of the internet connection but still you are only up to what is being set by the provider.

I tried your tip on “reducing Windows Update…” but when i click on Network no Qos appears. The Group Policy window itself looked different from the screen shots in your blog. I guess it’s because we’re using 2 different OSes.

Another thing Sir Jun, I read that ISPs throttle down the speed just when you needed it(steaming video/audio).That is hacking, and they hacked their subscribers. Totally unfair.

I haven’t heard that. What i know of is the ISP’s implementation of bandwidth cap every month which we agreed when we signed up with them. Once they implemented the cap, our surfing ability shall be reduced.

I think the service offered is unlimited surfing. Supposed to be no bandwidth capping as long as you pay the monthly bill. After all, they just limit you to 1 Mb/s internet speed as advertized by them. What is being implemented really is ‘Business as Usual’. Simply put, it’s not good for business at all. Not even to their own business.

So, you mean 3G connection. Just turn on the DATA CONNECTION button in the Pull Down Menu of your home screen. Be sure to set first what SIM card you want to use for data connection. You can do this by going to SETTING. Look for MORE under Wireless & Networks… Then select MOBILE NETWORKS… 3G SERVICE then ENABLE 3G… Choose what SIM you want to use to connect to the internet. Back to the previous page then set the NETWORK MODE to AUTO MODE to be sure your phone is always connected to either GSM (Edge) or WCDMA(3G). If you want to have a steady fast connection you can choose WCDMA but in areas where there are no 3G signal, yu won’t be receiving any signal.
            I hope this will help…

        Check the following:
1- Be sure your PC has an available PCI express slots where your new video card shall be inserted.
2- Check how much is power wattage of your power supply some video cards require more than 350 watts of power supply.

You may ask the advice from the computer shop dealer when you buy the video card. But take note of the details above before going to the store.

given your system is in healthy state,…. you can back up and restore your system on the different partition on your hardisk… just click the (1)windows orb at the lower left side of your desktop, then (2)click all programs, find the folder that says(3) maintenance then (4)choose back up and restore… if you want to re-install the whole system then repeat steps 1 to 3 for step 4 choose create a system repair disc you might need 2 to 3 blank dvds for this procedure…. this might help the next time you buy a new desktop or laptop….

Sir Jun, good day! I’m Charlie of Banilad. I have a dream satellite TV that is always connected to my home theater amp going to my TV set. My question is, is it safe for my home theater setup when I’m using it in watching movie thru my (Popcorn Hour) media player even if there’s lightning outside? Is it safe for me already if I just disconnect the satellite TV connection from my HT and continue watching the movie? TIA.
